Funding sources for therapy

Motor Vehicle Accident claim funding

If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident as per Alberta’s Insurance Regulation you would be able to access funded treatments through your Insurance claim depending on your diagnosis.

We work most insurance companies directly and direct bill them on your behalf.

Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) funding

The Workers’ compensation act mandates work place insurance for workers in the province of Alberta. If you were injured at work, treatment costs are covered by WCB subject upon acceptance of your claim.

Alberta Health Services funding- General Physiotherapy

If you were not injured at work or in a car accident, you may qualify for Alberta Health Care funded visits. You are eligible to receive a funded assessment and two treatments if you qualify. If you are on a government subsidy program, or qualify for low income, you may be eligible to receive treatments under the AISH(Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped) Rehabilitation program. You would need to call the Alberta Rehab Advice line to pre-qualify and request these treatments prior to booking an appointment.

Alberta Health Services funding- Surgery or Fracture rehabilitation

You will qualify for one assessment and six treatments that are covered by Alberta Health Care, in case of recent fracture or othopedic surgery.  You must begin attending treatment within 8 weeks of the fracture or surgery, or within 2 weeks of having your cast removed, unless your doctor recommends a longer wait time.

Benefit plan funding – Direct Billing (Extended Health Benefits)

Physiotherapy is a benefit under several health benefit plans. For your convenience, we direct bill a number of Extended Health Benefit providers.

If you have a benefit plan, we would encourage you to look into the extent of coverage you have for Physical Therapy, Massage therapy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Psychology. Please see below the Benefit plans that we are able to direct bill. If you have benefits through any other provider or your plan itself does not support direct billing: We would need to collect payment first. We will then provide you with the receipts and any documentation necessary so you can submit for reimbursement.
